This is Raúl Siles' website, a place dedicated to  INFORMATION SECURITY . You could find who am I?, the publications and projects I have been involved in, the security certifications I hold, the different organizations and groups I'm currently member of and some of the security conferences and courses I have been speaking and teaching at. Additionally you can find some security resources out there that I find very interesting .

Who am I?

Professional I hold a Bachelor Degree on Computer Science from the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (UPM) with the thesis "Distributed system for accessing heterogeneous databases: architecture and setup", and a Master as a "University Expert in Security and E-Commerce" by the UNED-DIEEC. My professional life has been mainly associated to HP, where I started working the previous century as a Remote Support Engineer, troubleshooting systems, applications and networks. About one year later I became a Support Technical Consultant, designing, deploying and supporting E-business/E-services projects and solutions, mainly covering the programming, system, network and security areas. After that, I became a Security Technical Consultant, where I have performed both, business and technological roles, designing, deploying and implementing security services and solutions in various industries. I'm a frequent security speaker with experience as a security and IT instructor. Additionally, I hold a number of professional certifications, enjoy security challenges and I'm member of several security organizations. I'm author of various books, about security, Java and Corba, and security research papers, many of which are available throughout this website. Please feel free to e-mail me if you are interested in my collaboration on a security project or training. Personal I was born in Madrid, Spain, sometime ago. I grew as any other Spanish boy, and at home, my family was always trying to maintain an unperturbed calm that was very helpful in my development: Thanks so much!! I met my wife at University long time ago, and since then my life changed drastically and has just turned on her. She had helped me out with every project and challenge I have been involved, and without her support I wouldn't be able to accomplish all my goals. She made me appreciate the world from a different perspective, a very smart and generous one, and she is always there when needed. I just want to reciprocate her as she deserves it. There are no words to describe how she is... the ligth of my life!! When I was young I played basketball a lot and currently I'm starting to enjoy diving with Mónica, although living in a city without coast doesn't help too much. We also love walking and hiking, traveling all over the world (the more you travel, the more you figure out all the places you are missing) and we like to go to the cinema.
